Police Wrestler Roshan Lal Lifts Devak –Sunderbani Kesari Title

Jammu and Kashmir Police wrestler, Roshan Lal of Muthi, Jammu, lifted the 10th annual Devak –Sunderbani Kesari Dangal title outplaying another JKP wrestler, Dillar Khan in the main bout played at Government Higher Secondary School, Devak in district Rajouri.

Winner, Roshan was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 3000 while runners-up, Khan was given away Rs 1500 as cash incentive by chief guest, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and member J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma.

Second main bout was won by Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu beating Naresh of Nargada. The third bout went to Anil Kumar (Mohanu) of J&K Police after he defeated Baj Singh of Akhnoor. The fourth main bout between Murad Ali of Nagrota and Prem Kumar Verma of Jhiri ended in a draw after 18 minutes of dilly dallying battle.

In all, 45 bouts were played in this one day long dangal, which was organised by Devak Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Joint secretary of the Association, Sanjeev Sharma presided while Headmaster, Rattan Lal of Laiter and Sarpanch, Om Parkash were guests of honour. Members of organizing committee and those technical officials who helped in smooth counduct of dangal were Sarpanch and president Om Parkash, Krishan Singh, Mulk Raj, Kulwant Rai, Rajinder Singh, Master Subash Chande, Baldev Raj, Capt. Jagdish Raj Sharma, Allah Mai (Ranga) Fako Ram, Shiv Dev Singh.
