ताऊ देवी लाल जिन्हें चौधरी देवी लाल के नाम से भी जाना जाता हैं महान नेता , स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, समाज सुधारक व् पहलवान थे ! वह हरयाणा के मुख्य मंत्री, कृषि मन्त्री तथा दो बार देश के उप प्रधान मंत्री भी रहे ! इक धनी किसान परिवार में जन्मे देवीलाल जी ने पंजाब के बादल गाँव में पहलवानी की विधा सीखी , महात्मा गांधी के आह्वाहन पर वे अपने बड़े भाई साहिब राम के साथ स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में शामिल हुए ! और इस दौरान कई बार जेल यात्रा की ! आजादी के बाद भी उन्होंने किसानो के हित के लिए संघर्ष जारी रखा , और किसान आंदोलनों के सशक्त नेता बन कर उभरे , ५०० किसानो के साथ उन्होंने इक बड़े आन्दोलन में जेलयात्रा भी की और इक कठोर मुजरा कानून में बदलाव लाये , उनके शब्दों में , हर खेत को पानी , हर हाथ को काम, हर तन पे कपड़ा हर सर पे मकान, हर पेट को रोटी बाकी सब बात खोटी! देश के ऐसे महान सपूत को मेरा शत -२ नमन ! २५ सितम्बर २०१२ को ताऊ देवी लाल की निन्यान्वीं जयंती को उस्मान पुर गाँव के लोगों ने इक ख़ास अंदाज में मनाया ! ताऊ देवी लाल की स्मृति में इक कुश्ती - दंगल का आयोजन किया गया ! दंगल ताऊ देवी लाल स्टेडियम के पास ही सरकारी स्कूल में आयोजित हुआ ! जिसमे मुख्या अतिथि खेल रत्न, ऍम एल ऐ श्री अभय चौटाला , राष्ट्रिय अध्यक्ष इनेलो श्री अनंत राम तंवर, नफे सिंह राठी, हरयाणा कुश्ती संघ के अध्यक्ष गोपी चाँद गहलोत , काउंसिलर ऋषिपाल राणा धीरज , राकेश गोली, रहे ! दंगल कमेटी के अध्यक्ष रहे श्री भीम सिंह ठाकरान जो की स्पोर्ट्स सेल के जिला अध्यक्ष भी हैं ! अन्गल की व्यवस्था शानदार थी, जिसमे अतिथियों के लिए इक ऊँचा मंच, प्रेस मीडिया के लिए विशेष मंच व्यवस्था , गाँव के बड़े बुजुर्गों के लिए अलग बैठने की व्यवस्था व् दर्शकों के लिए बैठने की अच्छी व्यस्था, इसके अलावा दर्शक तो घरों, स्कूल की छतों यहाँ तक की पेड़ों पर भी जा बैठे , दंगल में अखाड़े के चारों और रस्सी का इक मजबूत घेरा था जिससे पहलवान अखाड़े के अन्दर ही कुश्ती लादेन और बाहर ना जाएँ, ! दंगल में पुराने पहलवान और गुरु खलीफाओं ने रेफेर्शिप की, ! दंगल में छोटे बच्चों की कुश्तियां भरपूर करायीं गई, इसी प्रकार 500X20 , 1100X17 , 2100X10 , 5100X7 , 11000X4 , 21000X2 और ५१०००१ और दंगल की पहली कुश्ती 100000 रुपये की हुई ! कुश्तियां कराइ गई ! दंगल कमेटी को भीमसिंह ठाकरान जी ने ५१०००/- और राकेश ठाकरान जी ने ५१०००/- की राशी दान में दी , दंगल की दूसरी कुश्ती जिसमे 51000 का इनाम था भाई स्वराज खटाना की तरफ से हुई, इसी प्रकार अनेक दानी सज्जनों ने छोटी बड़ी रकम दान में देकर दंगल कमेटी को अच्छी कुश्तिया करने में सहयोग दिया ! आजकल सभी दंगलों में भीड़ है ! अखाड़ों में पहलवानों की संख्या निरंतर बढ़ रही हैं ! जिन प्रदेशों में पहलवानों ना के बराबर थी वहां भी अब पहलवानी पहुँच रही हैं , इसका बहुत कुछ श्रेय तो सुशील कुमार , योगेश्वर दत्त जैसे पहलवानों को ही जाएगा , परन्तु मिटटी के धुरंदर पहलवानों की जोर आजमाइश और दंगलों में उनकी लगातार शिरकत गाँव खेड़ों के बच्चों को पहलवान बनने की प्रेरणा दे जाती हैं ! जिन भी गाँव खेड़ों में अखाडा है वहां इक अच्छा पहलवान हुआ नहीं की बच्चे अखाड़े का रुख करना शुरू कर देते हैं ! मिटटी के इन पहलवानों और गुरु खलीफाओं के निरंतर कठिन प्रयासों के करन ही आज लुप्त होती पहलवानी की ये परंपरा अपने पूरे शबाब पर है ! हर दंगल में इक छुट्टी की कुश्ती होती है ! जिसका अर्थ होता है की पहले इनाम के लिए कुश्ती ! इस बार भी दंगल में बहुत अच्छे पहलवान छुट्टी के कुश्ती लड़ने पहुंचे ! गुरु कैप्टेन चान्द्रूप के शिष्य जोगिन्दर , ,गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े से गोटी पहलवान, छारा के वीरेंदर, . आशु पहलवान जो इस्माइल पुर गाँव के ही हैं उन्होंने २ कुश्ती जीती ! रोहित जयवीर बुपनिया तथा मिंटू वीरेंदर छारा के बीच अच्छी कुश्ती चली लेकिन बराबर रहीं ! गुरु श्याम लाल अखाड़े के आनंद पहलवान ने परवीन के साथ इक अच्छी कुश्ती दिखाई जिसमे आनंद ने परवीन को मात्र १० सेकंड में चित्त कर इनाम जीता ! वीरेंदर छारा के रवि पहलवान और लीलू अखाड़े के सईद पहलवान के बीच भी अच्छी कुश्ती चली ! इसी प्रकार बाल पहलवान में तावडू के अन्नू व् झारसा के गोलू पहलवान के बीच अच्छी कुश्ती चली जिसमे अन्नू ने जीत दर्ज की ! हमारे ही अखाड़े के इक पहलवान को चोट लगने के कारण मुझे बीच में दंगल छोड़ कर जाना पडा तो पहले मुकाबले की कुश्ती ना देख सका चलिए इस बार नयें बांस में अच्छी कुश्तिया हैं उसकी १४ अक्टूबर को इक और शानदार रिपोर्ट पेश करूंगा

Tau Devilal ji, also known as Choudhary Devilal, was a Haryana legend. He was a great political leader, freedom fighter and wrestler. He served as chief minister of Haryana, agricultural minister of India, and twice served as deputy prime minister. He came from a wealthy farming family and he learned wrestling at badal village in Punjab.
On the request of Mahatama Gandhi he joined the Indian struggle for freedom with his elder brother Bhai Sahim Ram and he went to jail many times.
After independence he became a great advocate for farmers and fought to amend the muzzara rules of land. People loved him very much and respected him, they still do today. He once said the there should be water for every field, work for every hand, clothes for every body, and food for every stomach.
On his 99th birthday the people of Ismilepur celebrated by organizing a wrestling competition. The competition was organized near Tau Devilal Stadium. The main guests of the honor were khel ratna awardee and MLA shri abhay choutala, the national president of INELO shere anant ram tanwar, shri nafe singh rathee, the president of Haryana wrestling federation shre gopi chand gahlot, councilor rishipal, dheeraj, rakesh and goli. The dangal committee was chaired by shree bheem singh thakraan.
A portrait of ch. Devilal ji was put between the arena and the guests and people paid tributes with flowers.
The wrestling matches for kids came first. After that matches of Rs.500X20, Rs. 1100X7, Rs. 2100X10, Rs. 5100X7, Rs. 11000X4, Rs 21000X2 , 51000X1 and 100000X1 were organized. Wrestling enthusiasts like bheem singh thakraan and rakesh thakraan gifted the dangal committee with 51000/- each, one bhai swaraj khatana gave 51000/- for the second prize bout of the match. Likewise, many people contributed to the dangal committee to increase prizes for the wrestlers.
Wrestling has been gaining popularity in India thanks to the recent international success of Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt. So dangals these days attract huge numbers of wrestlers. There are very good traditional wrestlers in India. People love watch wrestlers compete in local competitions and they send their children to akharas to learn wrestling. Most Indian villages have wrestling schools and if there is a good wrestler in the village people feel great pride in his victories. The selfless service of the gurus and such wrestlers helps draw large crowds of wrestlers in each competition.
Every competition has one first prize bout called chutti ki kushti this is played between the two best wrestlers. Here the first prize bout was between joginder pahlwan of guru captain chandroop akhara and goti pahlwan of guru hanuman akhara. There was an accident with wrestler of our akhada so I have to leave the completion in between so I could not watch their game.
A wrestler named Aashu from Ismilepur won two matches. Jeetu pahlwan of guru shyam lal battled suneel of virender akhada. The bout went on for a long time, and in the end sunil managed to pin Jeetu. A wrestler named anand defeated parveen in just 10 seconds. And annu pahlwan of chhatrsaal degreated golu of jharsa.
