ISLAMABAD: Four foreign teams will take part in the International Peace Wrestling Championship to be held from December 7-9 in Peshawar. “One team each from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka will be taking part in this three-day event in which two teams from Pakistan Whites and Greens will throw a strong challenge to the foreign teams,” said a spokesman for the Pakistan Wrestling Federation here on Thursday. He said the participation of foreign teams in the event would send a positive message that Pakistan was safe venue for staging international meets. The winning teams will be awarded ‘Bacha Khan Peace Trophy.’ He said that holding of an international wrestling competition in Pakistan had only been possible due to the untiring and dedicated efforts of PWF president Syed Aqil Shah, who is also the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) sports minister, and full financial and administrative support of KP Government.
