बिस्सर हरयाणा के गुडगाँव - मानेसर से सटे क्षेत्र का एक सुन्दर गाँव है. दिल्ली से जयपुर जाते समय दुसरे टोल खिरकी दौला के पास से तावडू -बिसर के लिए मुड़ते है. कंक्रीट के बड़े -२ ब्लाक से बनी सड़क पर नवरंगपुर होते हुए बिस्सर के लिए रास्ता है , कभी यह रास्ता बेहद खूबसूरत अरावली की पहाड़ियों की सुन्दरता और आस पास के गावों के लोगों से मिलने , जानने समझने का संपर्क माध्यम था , आज हालांकि पत्थर रोड़ी से भरे डंपरों की आवाजाही से रास्ता व्यस्त रहता है जो आस पास के क्रेशरों में माल को लाने ले जाने के काम में दिन रात चलते रहते हैं.
पिछले साल बिस्सर के दंगल को देखने का मौका मिला था अतः इस बार मैं दंगल की तैयारियों का जायजा लेने बिस्सर जा पहुंचा वहां अजय और दीपक पहलवान से मुलाक़ात की और उन्होंने गाँव का अखाडा देखने का निमंत्रण दिया। गाँव के एक किनारे पर अखाड़े का निर्माण किया गया था , वहीँ पर बच्चों के जोर और अभ्यास को देखा और बिसर दंगल की तैयारियों पर बातचीत की. अखाड़े पर गुरु जी ने बताया की लगभग 200 वर्ष पहले हमारे पूर्वज देवा सिंह के कोई संतान नहीं थी , एक रात उन्हें स्वप्न हुआ की देवताओं का छत्र चढाओ और पूजा पथ करो। अगली सुबह उन्होंने गाँव के लोगों को ये जानकारी दी और जाहर पीर जाकर पूजा पाठ किया और एक पत्थर उठा कर लाये और और गाँव में देवता का स्थान बना कर थान चढ़ाया। उसके नौ महीने बाद उनके पुत्र हुआ और उसका नाम थान सिंह रखा गया. इसी ख़ुशी में प्रतिवर्ष बिसर गाँव में जन्माष्टमी के दुसरे दिन एक बड़ा मेल लगता है और दंगल होता है. भाई अजय ने बताया की पूरा गाँव मेले और दंगल की तैयारी में शामिल होता है. गाँव में मेले के दोनों दिन मंदिर पे पूजा पाठ चलता है , विशाल भंडारे की व्यवस्था की जाती है जिसमे दंगल और मेले में आये हुए हर व्यक्ति के लिए भर पेट छोले -पूड़ी, खीर आदि प्रसाद की व्यस्था होती है. दंगल मे आये हर पहलवान , गुरु , खलीफा का सम्मान और धन्यवाद किया जाता है , सभी विजेता पहलवानों को उचित इनाम भी दिया जाता है और बड़े बुजुर्गों और गुरु खलीफाओं का सम्मान भी किया जाता है.
मैंने दंगल के दोनों दिनों को अपने इन्टनेट -कुश्ती पत्रकारिता के लिए कवर किया। दंगल में मेरे लिए एक उचित स्थान मुहैया कराया गया जिससे मुझे बहुत मदद मिली समय समय पर ठंडा -पानी की व्यवस्था ने काम और आसान कर दिया। दर्शकों के लिए इस बार स्टेडियम की सीढ़ियों को बढ़ाया गया था और विशिष्ट अतिथियों के लिए कंक्रीट का बसे और उस पर लगा पंडाल सुविधा जनक था , बेहतर साउंड , और सुरक्षा व्यवस्था ने दंगल को सुचारू रूप से चलने में बहुत मदद की।
दंगल की पहली कुश्ती के लिए 125000 रुपये के सेले पर जोगिन्दर गुरु कैप्टेन चान्द रूप आ खडे हुए उनसे हाथ मिलने जल्दी कोई पहलवान नहीं आया तो रवि भिवानी को उनसे लड़ने का मौका दिया गया , रवि पर जोगिन्दर पूरी तरह छाए रहे और उन्होंने दो बार रवि को नीचे बैठा घुटना रख चित करने की कोशिश की लेकिन वजनी रवि आसानी से चित्त होने वाला नहीं था , कई बार उसने पकड़ चछुटाने की कोशिश की लेकिन जोगिन्दर ने आखिरकार घुटना रख चित्त कर कुश्ती अपने नाम की तब तक कुश्ती तकरीबन १५००००/- पर जा चुकी थी.
दंगल की दूसरी कुश्ती वरुण और सोनू कप्तान चान्द रूप के बीच हुई , जो की 86000 और 21 मिनट की रखी गई , दोनों बराबर जोड़ के पहलवान थे , एक दुसरे पर खूब जोर अजमाया लेकिन कुश्ती अपने नाम कोई भी न कर सका , समय ख़तम होने पर कुश्ती को बराबर घोषित कर दोनों को सांत्वना पुरष्कार दिया गया.
दंगल की तीसरी कुश्ती 51000 रुपये पर विक्रम छारा और ताजपुर पहलवान के बीच 51000 के लिए हुई दोनों पहलवानों ने दिया २१ मिनट के समय के लिए खूब जोर लगाया लेकिन बराबरी पर छूटे
दंगल की चौथी कुश्ती मनीष गुरु लीलू लाडपुर और और संजय गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े के बीच हुई जो की 31000 और २० मिनट के लिए लड़ी गई , दोनों पहलवानों ने गजब का जोर लगाया लेकिन कुश्ती समय ख़तम होने पर बराबर घोषित कर दी गई.
बिसर अखाड़े के सभी पहलवानों ने दंगल में कुश्तियां लड़ी और अधिकतर पहलवानों ने कुश्तिया अपने नाम की , तावडू के अन्नू पहलवान ने दंगल के दोनों दिन कुश्तिया लड़ाई पहले दिन जीते और दुसरे दिन गुरु राजकुमार गोस्वामी अखाड़े के मनीष से बराबरी पर छूटे , अन्नू पर मनीष अच्छा पडा.
दंगल के पहले दिन की कुश्ती अजय और गुरु बद्री के एक शिष्य के बीच घमासान चली , अंत मे दोनों बराबरी पर छूटे।
वहीँ कुलदीप पहलवान ने दोनों दिन अछी कुश्तियां लड़ी और जीती , ममान्दोटी के चोटी वाले पहलवान ने गुरु हनुमान के सुमित को को चारों खाने बाजे पर चित्त कर शानदार कुश्ती जीती।
गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े के होनहार पहलवान आकाश ने बढ़िया कुश्ती दिखाइ लेकिन समय कम मिला तो उनका समय बढ़ाया गया पर कुश्ती बराबरी पर छुटी
वहीँ गुरु श्यामलाल के जीतू पहलवान पहले दिन घनश्याम से बराबरी पर छूटे तो दुसरे दिन गुरु हनुमान के भोला से चित्त हुए.
दंगल में सभी गुरु , खलीफाओं, और कोच का स्वागत हुआ, मुख्या अतिथियों और बड़े बुजुर्गों का पगड़ी पहना कर स्वागत किया गया. दंगल कमिटी ने मेरी सेवा के लिए मुझे भी उचित सम्मान दिया जिसका मै ह्रदय से आभारी हूँ
अंत में एक बार फिर बिस्सर गाँव के लोगों , दंगल कमिटी , दर्शकों और आये हुए पहलवानों , गुरु और खलीफाओं का धन्यवाद अदा करना चाहूँगा जिन्होंने बिसर के इस दंगल को एक यादगार दिन और एक मिसाल के तौर पर कायम किया। इस प्रशंशनीय कार्य के लिए बिसर गाँव की दंगल कमिटी , पंचायत और लोगों की जितनी प्रशंशा की जाए कम है
ENGLISH VERSION
Few tourists make their way to the beautiful village of Bisar, on the outskirts of Gurgaon Haryana. But the village is a mecca for wrestlers and every year it stages one of the biggest traditional wrestling competitions in all of India. The tournament lasts two days and draw some of the best wrestlers from around the country.
I asked some of the village elders how this great tradition got its start. They told me it started centuries ago. One of the ancestors of the village named Deva Singh had no children after years of marriage and he had a dream in which he was directed to make offerings to God and set up a temple. Nine months after this dream his wife gave birth to a son. So he went to Goga Medhi and started a temple here. Since that day, which is two days after Lord Krishna’s birthday, a very big mela or celebration has been organized and a great dangal is held. It use to only be one day, but so many wrestlers would come to compete that they had to extend the dangal to two days.
Ajay, a young man from the village who helps the working committee told me that a lot of work goes into organizing the dangal to make sure that prizes are distributed as they should be and spectators can have a good view of the wrestling. Everyone is welcome from anywhere in the world no mater their caste, race or religion.
People started pouring in as soon as the dangal got started and with each passing minute, the number of men at the venue increased. It was so packed that there was no place to sit at the end of the day when the first prize matches were wrestled.
The cash prize for the championship match was huge Rs 125000/-. Joginder Pahlwan of Guru Capt. Chandroop Akhada was the champion and everybody was guessing who would take up the challenge to wrestle him: Nishant of Guru Jasram, or Rajiv Tomar or Hitesh? But in the end, a wrestler named Ravi from Bhivani Haryana came to accept his challenge. Ravi looked heavier than Joginder. However, he wasn’t as skilled a wrestler and Joginder easily took him down and kept him flat on his belly for a long time as if showing what happens when you take on a bigger opponent. The referee called them to their feet, but again Joginder took Ravi down, placed his knee on his head, grabbed his trunks (which is allowed in Indian-style wrestling only when you apply a technique) and pulled him over and pinned him. By the time Joginder had finished him off the amount of cash prize had swelled to more than 150000/- as fans contributed money. I asked Joginder how he felt after winning. “Great” he said, adding that his opponent was heavy “but I didn’t have any difficulty pinning him.”
This was the second prize match pitted Varun Pahlwan against Sonu of Guru Capt. Chandroop Akhada. The cash prize was Rs. 86000/- and both wrestler were evenly matched in power and weight. Both men are among the top wrestlers of traditional mud wrestling. Their match went on for a full time period of 15 minutes, however, neither could secure a pin.
Senior heavyweights Manish Laadpur from Leelu Akhada and Sanjay of Guru Hanuman Akhada battled it out for a 31000/- prize. Both wrestlers came close to pinning each other during the 20 minute match, but each fought his way out of it and the match ended in a draw. Consolation prizes were given to all wrestlers whose matches ended with no winner.
Akash Pahlwan is a very good wrestler from guru hanuman who dominated his bout with a very big opponent, but the wrestler fought off all of Akash’s pin attempts and the bout also ended in a draw.
Jeetu Phalwan of guru shyam lal akhada came to wrestle on both the days. He fought Ghansyam at the first day, who is an older more experience wrestler. Ghnashyam dominated the match. On the second day Jeetu battled another great wrestler, Bhola, who easily pinned him. Jeetu appeared to have gotten injured.
Ajay from Guru Hanuman battled a wrestler from Guru Badri Akhada for the first prize match on the first day but the match ended in a draw.
Annu Pahalwan is a junior wrestler who lives nearby Bisar, but he trains at the chhtrasaal stadium New Delhi. Annu was a medalist at the junior national games and is quite skilled. He went up against a wrestler named Kapil on the first day, beating him easily. On the second day he wrestled Manish from Guru Rajkumar Goswami Akhada, who is also a medal winner at junior level. Both wrestled well but it seemed that Manish had the upper hand. But in the end Annu was able to fight off Manish’s attempts to pin him and the match was declared a draw as the time limit ran out.
Among the top matches there was a bout between Virender Pahlwan of chhara and a wrestler from Tajpur. The prize was Rs. 51000/- and the time allotted was 21 minutes. Both the wrestlers were equally matched and time ran out before either could secure a pin.
In other matches, Kuldip who was a favorite among spectators participated on both the competition days and won his bouts. Ashu Pahlwan of chhtrsaal also won his bouts on both days.
It was also a good day for Suraj Pahalwan. His son Shubhan won both his matches on the two days of the dangal and his other son Deepak won one of his matches and lost the other. And his daughter, Divya, who recently participated in junior world championship and asian championship and is a good traditional wrestler as well was honored by the dangal committee.
The event was witnessed by many leaders and famous wrestlers. Among them was Sukhbir Joaunapuriya who donated one lakh to the dangal committee.
As a tradition all the V.I.P.’s, gurus and coaches were awarded with pagri and cash prizes.
The people of Bisar deserve praise and thanks for all their hard work organizing such a great event. They handled the large crowd and large number of wrestlers very well. And they have set a high standard for the future dangals.
