JAMMU, Sept 1: “60th Annual Sankri Kesari Dangal 2013 a wrestling event organized by Meer Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association to be held on September 3 at Sankri Devta from 2 PM to 6 PM.
This Dangal is a part of three days historic grand Sankri Mela and is organized on the first day of Mela with active co-operation of Meer and Panchari People in Block Panchari in Tehsil and District Udhampur.
The decision regarding organizing this dangal was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma. Members who attended the meeting were Prem Nath Bhagat, Sat Paul Singh, Sarpanches Laxman Dass, Baldev Singh, Jewan Sharma, Hossiar Singh, Jai Paul, Dhani Ram, Vimal Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Chuni Lal, Romesh Singh, Yash Paul Singh, Bansi Lal, Faial Singh, Sandoor Singh, Gopal Singh, Ratten Lal, Babu Singh, Laxman Singh, Ratten Singh, Shanker Singh, Mahatama Singh, Pujari Dhani Ram, Balbir Singh, Gandarb Singh and Dharam Singh.
President J&K Indian Style wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, said, 55 wrestlers drawn from Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, Ramnagar, Roun-Domail, Pouni, Panthal, Panchari, Reasi, Damnote, Moungri, Khar Gali, Sujjandhar, Ladda, Badota, Gilote, Kainth Gali, Nali Nikha and Tote are likely to participate in the Dangal.
Laxman Singh Katoch, Gopal Singh, Prem Nath Bhagat, Mahatama Singh, Virender Kumar Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Murli Dhar (Munna) have been nominated as technical officials for the smooth conduct of this dangal in a very fine way. Sharma said decision of refree in every bout will be final and the dangal is organized on a “Mud Akhara”. Vetern wrestlers, ustad and coach will also be honored. Dangal will be organized as per the norms of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India (National Federation). No bout will be ended in a draw in the one day long competition.
