JAMMU, Jan 10: Shri Swami Nitya Nand Wrestling Association Panthal is organizing “114th Panthal Kesari Vishal Dangal 2014” at Panthal in Reasi on January 14 under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The decision to this effect was taken in the office chamber of the president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma at Hotel Basera, Katra. Others who attented the meeting were President and members of Nitya Nand Wrestling Association Panthal.
Sharma said 70 wrestlers from different States like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, H.P, Chandigarh in addition to various parts of the State viz Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Rajouri, Doda, Buddal, Kalakote, Moungri, Ramnagar, Roun-Domail, Panthal, Pouni, Akhnoor, Panchari, Danmote, Panjar, Kalsote, Badota, Ladha, Jasserkote, Sudhmahadev J&K Police and Dansal etc. are likely to Participate in the vishal Dangal.
Sharma said a noteable feature of this dangal is being conducted regularly at Panthal for the last 114 years on the eve of Maker Sankranti day. Sharma said it is expected more than 15,000 sports lovers would come to witness the Vishal dangal cash prize money for the 1st bout (1st malli) is Rs.31,000/-, for the 2nd malli is Rs. 25,000 and for the third malli is Rs. 15,000/-.
Sharma said we have decided to honour the best wrestler of the dangal who wins 1st malli as “Panthal Kesari 2014”. He would be awarded traditional “Silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta” in addition to handsome Cash prize. An amount of Rs. 3,00,000/- likely to be incurred in the vishal dangal and would jointly be collected from Panthal, Katra, Udhampur, Jammu and other inhabitants of Panthal which migrate from there.
