Two wrestlers of the Gulzar Akhara, Zirakhpur, have been selected to represent India in the forthcoming international events. According to Sports Authority of India (SAI) coach RS Kundu, one of the wrestler Mahpat would compete in the 54 kg in the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship to be held in Bangkok in July.
Whereas another trainee Hardeep Singh would compete in the 96-kg category of the World Junior Wrestling Championship to be held in Budhapest from July 18 to 24.
Rajinder Kumar (56 kg) and Ashok Kumar (96 kg) would represent India in the “Golden Grand Prix” International Wrestling Tournament, being held at Baku (Azerbaijan) from today onwards. — TNS
