JAMMU, Apr 24: SPO with J&K Police, Gaddo of Khawas in Buddal emerged winner in a dangal competition which was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir under civil action programme at Koterenka in district Rajouri.
In the main bout, pahalwan Gaddo defeated a Jammu wrestler. In all, 150 wrestlers from different parts of Jammu division took part in the event.
Deputy Inspector General of Rajouri-Poonch range, SD Singh Jamwal, who took the initiative to hold competition in the indigenous game of wrestling, was chief guest.
In his addresss, the DIG encouraged the youth to participate in all types of games and sports which will not only help in their physical development but also bring in them sportsman spirit.
He thanked the people for their support and participation and sought their support in the future.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, J P Singh was guest of honour. Among others present were Shabir Choudhary, Additional SP Rajouri, Shahzad Khan, senior PDP leader, Tehsildar Kotrenka and SHO Kotrenka, Ayub Pehalwan.
