REASI: Talent hunt drive for budding wrestlers was organised across the rural periphery of Reasi, Jammu and Rajouri Districts to select the best budding wrestlers who could participate at sub junior, junior, and senior categories at State and national level wrestling competitions.
Team of experts led by Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association (JKISWA) visited different Panchayats which included Sungal, Kund Khaniari, Fanwal, Kathar, etc. to spread the message of healthy youth and healthy India through wrestling.
Addressing the local populace at these Panchayats, the experts threw light on the history of wrestling in India and laid emphasis on the Yogic and Ayurvedic importance associated with this sport.
A total of 80 wrestlers were selected during the drive under various categories. Earlier, local organisations, school authorities, Panchs and Sarpanchs welcomed the efforts of the association in streamlining the energy of the local youth and assured of all possible help.
Rakesh Khajuria, General Secretary JKISWA, Ram Rattan, Associate Member of the Association, Subhash Chander and Tilak Raj played a pivotal role in the conduct of the drive. Shiv Kumar Sharma, President JKISWA and Choudhary Prem Nath Sharma, Chairman JKISWA supervised the talent hunt drive, which was conducted on the directions of Kiran Wattal, Secretary, J and K State Sports Council.
