KUSHTI CALENDAR: 22nd Dera Kesari dangal on Apr 12

JAMMU, Apr 2: 22nd Dera Kesari vishal Dangal 2013 is going to be organised at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur in Reasi on April 12
The dangal is being organized on the eve of Baisakhi Festival is the memory of great Saint, Warrior and Martyr Baba Banda Bahadur Ji.
The decision for organizing the said Vishal Dangal was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. The members who attended the meeting were Baba Jatinder Paul Singh Sodhi Gaddi Nasheen, Dera Baba Banda Bahadur and Baba Bahadur Sikh Samardai Malik Ram Lubhaya Paruthi (Chairman) Sant Kumar Juneja (President), V.P Makar, Sanjay Kumar and Mohan Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Member J&K State Sports Council said that Dangal is being organized by Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Parbandhak Committee, and Baba Banda Bahadur Sikh Samardai under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Shiv Kumar Sharma while giving the detail of Dangal said about 60-65 from within and outside the State are going to take part in the Vishal Dangal.
Sharma said J&K Wrestlers like Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Roun-Domail, Ramnagar, Bahmag, Reasi, Jhajjar kotli, BSF, JKP, Jindrah have confirmed their entries while from outside the Wrestlers from Amritsar, Jullandhar, U.P, Ludhiana, Delhi, Haryana, H.P, and Dera Baba Nanak are likely to be participate in the Vishal Dangal.
Sharma said it was also decided in the meeting to honour the best Wrestler of the Dangal with “22nd Dera Kesari 2013”. He will be awarded hand some cash prize in addition to Traditional silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta.” Sharma said the decision of the referee in every bout will be final and dangal is organized on Mud Akhara on the bank of holy river Chenab.
He said all the wrestlers who come over there will get chance to participate may be they are local or outsiders, Wrestlers will get handsome cash prizes, Vetern Wrestlers, ustad and technical officials will also be honoured.
Meanwhile, the interested Wrestlers of Jammu region or outside the state can submit their entries for participation in the dangal to Shiv Kumar Sharma (94191 61880).
