My friend Ahmad Ballasqa sent news from Hyderabad. In a big kushti competition, India's best wrestler Rohit Patel and Kirshan fought well and showed their skills and technique to the crowd. In another match mohammad pahlwan fought Hind Kesri Parvesh Pahlwan of haryana. The match remained a draw after the given time of 20 minutes lapsed. In on another match mohammad pahwlan pinned a wrestler from Delhi in 18 seconds and won the hearts of the crowd.

HYDERABAD: At a time when communal tensions are being constantly flayed in the Old City, Barkas has put up a display of communal harmony through the spirit of sportsmanship at the two-day wrestling event that concluded on Sunday.

About 150 wrestlers from the city grappled for the title of 'Hyderabad Kesari' at a wrestling tournament that the people of Barkas have been organizing for the past 13 years under the aegis of Samaj Sewak association. Though most participants were from the Muslim community, about 40 Hindu wrestlers from Lal Darwaza, Uppuguda and Begum Bazaar also grappled at the arena. Amidst a highly spirited audience they clashed while being mindful of the fact that sportsmanship matters more than anything else.

Osman al Hajri, a yesteryear wrestler and coach, said that wrestling bouts can turn very sensitive but nothing can go wrong if the wrestlers themselves don't get carried away. "Wrestling is a highly competitive sport but wrestlers at all times remain grounded. They wipe sweat off each others' body. But it is those who are outside the ring who can make trouble. The wrestlers do not bear any ill-will against each other," he said.

The scene at the Barkas football ground on Sunday was a testimonial to their commitment to communal harmony. Noted wrestlers of the past from both communities entered the ring to congratulate the winners and honour their victory. Organizers of the tournament said that wrestlers from different faiths are united by the sport.

"When a wrestler enters the ring he assesses his opponent with an aim to win. It does not matter to him what faith his opponent belongs to. Unlike common people from different faiths who may not have a bonding factor, wrestlers are bound by the sport. Respect and appreciation for the opponent is one of the most important lessons we learn," said Khaleed Bhamas, one of the organizers of the tournament.

Young wrestlers only voiced what their seniors said. "When we train, we only see the quality of our teacher. Many of us come to fight and train under Muslim coaches in areas like Barkas and Yakutpura. We are like any other student for our teachers. When we fight we represent our akhada and our teacher. Their reputation rides on our shoulders, reminding us that we are sportsmen," said 18 year-old wrestler Pawan Kumar.

HYDERABAD: Young lads who eagerly participated in the two-day wrestling tournament held at Barkas reflected the fondness for the sport still exists in the Old City. About 35 young boys, aged between 9 and 14, wrestled for the title of Hyderabad Bal Kesari at the event that concluded on Friday. The youngsters participated in the 35-40 kg weight category.

Hailing from different parts of the Old City, the young wrestlers are the gen-next torch bearers of the sport, say the organizers. However the boys say that they are in it purely for the love of the sport.

"I love cricket and football but it is wrestling that I would like to pursue as a career," says 13-year-old Usama Bamas. Bamas is aware of the hardship the sport involves. "We are made to train for three hours everyday. We are also advised to take care of diet, that essentially includes proteins, " he says.

Fourteen-year-old Abubakr bin Abdullah is another promising wrestler from Barkas. He says that wrestling is in his blood as the men in his family have been wrestlers. "Wrestling gives a thrill that other sports do not. Though there is risk of injury, I would not want to give it up," says Abubakr. When asked if wrestling allows for normal schooling, Abubakr laughs it off. "I am amongst the first five rankers in my class."

"At our akhada, we have about 50 children who are below the age of 14. Training has to start before the body loses its flexibility. Of the young wrestlers we have, at least 15 of them can make it big if they are given proper training," says Khaled Bamas, one of the organizers.

45th HIND KESARI - VICTORY FOR ROHIT PATEL

अपने सब प्रतिद्वंदियों को पछाड़ कर मौसम खत्री हिंद केसरी की दावेदारी थोक चुके थे, उन्हें इस पद का उचित दावेदार माना जा रहा था , पिछले साल हिंद केसरी रह चुके मौसम अब अखाड़े में अपना करतब दिखने आ पहुंचे , दर्शको ने शोर मचा कर उनका स्वागत किया , उन पर सबकी निगाहे थी ! इसी प्रकार रोहित पटेल अपने सब प्रतिद्वंदियों को रौंदते हुए मौसम के सामने आ डटे ! श्री अंजन कुमार यादव जी द्वारा कुश्ती का उदघाटन किया गया ! और दोनों पहलवानों ने कुश्ती शुरू की ! दोनों पहलवान बराबरी के थे , सो एक दुसरे की तरफ देखते , अपना बैलेंस बना दुसरो को धकेलते, जोर लगा नीचे बैठाने की कोशिश करते , या एक दुसरे पर झपट पड़ते , दर्शक सांस रोके मुकाबले को देख रहे थे , कभी मौसम जोर लगाता तो रोहित उसे धकेल दे कर छुड़ा लेता, कभी रोहत बिजली की तरह झपटा तो चीते की तरह मौसम उसकी कैद से निकल भागता मध्यांतर तक कोई भी पहलवान एक भी अंक न बना सका , मध्यांतर के बाद कुश्ती और तेज हो गई समय गुजरता रहा था जब २-३ मिनट शेष थे तो रोहित ने अटैक किया , मौसम ने बचाव , दोनों अखाड़े में गिर पड़े दर्शकों की आवाज बैठ गई , सुई भी गिरे तो आवाज हो पर किसी को एक न मिला इस पर मौसम ने रोहित को बैठा उसके पीछे पहुँच अंक लेने की कोशिश की पर रोहित कहाँ काछी मिटटी का बना था फूर्ती से बचाव कर मौसम के पीछे पहुँच एक अंक प्राप्त किया और बढ़त ली , समय न था , अब मौसम के लिए करो या मरो का सवाल था सो उसने अटैक लगाया , रोहित को बाजुओं में भर , तंग में तंग फंसा उलटी लगाने के प्रयास किया ,रोहित पहले से तैयार था सो उसने बचाव कर मौसम पर अपना दांव फेंका और मौसम चारों खाने चित्त जा पड़ा , रोहित पटेल ने विजय हुंकार भरी और वर्ष २०११ का हिंद केसरी तय हुआ ! पैतालिस्वें हिंद केसरी टाइटल प्रतियोगिता में उत्तरांचल के टीम ने भी भाग लिया जिसमे सत्यवान पहलवान ९४ + वजन में द्वितीय रहे उन्हें अपनी उम्र से दुगने , व् वजनी नाड पहलवान से पराजय का मुंह देखना पड़ा , कुल मिलकर सारा स्टेडियम सत्यवान के पक्ष में था , पर अंत में नाड को सफलता मिली ! सत्यवान पहलवान को भी ढेरो शुभकामनाये , श्री अंजन कुमार यादव जी, जगदीश कालीरमण व् कृपा शंकर पहलवान ! कुश्ती के इतिहास में सम्माननीय संसद सदस्य अंजन कुमार यादव जी को कभी न भुलाया जाएगा ! उनकी अपार लगन, कठिन परिस्श्रम और दंगल के लिए धन जुटाने के कारण वे पहलवानों के शिरोधार्य बने ! देश भर के पहलवानों को प्रतियोगिता के लिए बुलावा देना , पुराने पहलवानों को सम्मान के लिए बुलाना , और दूरदर्शन के लिए कमेंटरी देने पर मई जगदीश पहलवान और किरपा शंकर पहलवान का तहे दिल शुक्रिया अदा करता हूँ जिनकी कठोर लगन और परिश्रम ने दंगल में चार चाँद लगा दिए ! कुश्ती कला की इन महान विभूतियों के अथक परिणाम स्वरुप आज कुश्ती का निखर हुआ उजला स्वरुप सामने आ रहा है ! धन्यवाद दीपक अनुसूया प्रसाद

ENGLISH VERSION:

Mausam Khatri was the defending Hind Kesari champion, so all eyes were on him. Hi opponent, Rohit Patel was a great wrestler, so this was boun to be an exciting match. Hon M.P Anjan Yadav ji and other dignitaries inaugurated the bout.

The crowed was equally divided between supporters of Mausam Khatri and Rohit Patel fans. The match was also broadcast live by DD sports channel and Hyderabad Doordarshan Kendra. So the whole country was waiting to see who would take the Hind Kesari title. The match was divided into two six-minute rounds, with a short rest period in between. In the first round, neither wrestler managed to score a single point.

The wrestling became more intense in the second round. There crowd grew more excited as each wrestler attempted takedowns. Suddenly Mausam Khatri attacked, but Rohit Patel defended well and scored one point.

Finally, Mausam Khatri shot a takedown, but Rohit Patel turned the attack to his advantage and pinned the defending champion. The crowd went wild. It was a bit of history in the making because the first Hind Kesari from MP, a wrestler named Ramchander, was in the audience to see Rohit Patel’s great victory.

When the event ended there was chaos all around people were running here and there to greet the winning wrestlers. In the midst of the chaos, the awards were given to the wrestlers: cash prizes, scooters, bikes etc. Shree Anjan Kumar Yadav ji thanked everyone who participated for making the 45th Hind Kesari such a great success and declared the championship over.

45th HIND KESARI - Qualifying Matches and Semifinals

प्रारंभिक राउंड्स महिला कुश्तियों में , गुरशरण कौर, अंजू तोमर, रजनी बिष्ट, ऐश्वर्या पहवानो ने शानदार अंदाज में जीत दर्ज की ! गुरुशरण और अंशु तोमर के लिए तो प्रारम्भिक कुश्तिया महज दिखावा मात्र थी उनके प्रतिद्वंदी उनके सामने न टिक सके, वही आंध्र के ऐश्वर्या ने शानदार जीत दर्ज की. रजनी बिष्ट की कुश्ती कला को लोगों ने खूब सराहा ! रोहित कुमार , देवी सिंह, रोशन, मौसम खत्री , क्रिशन, नाद, सत्यवर्त, गोटी आदि पहलवानों ने शानदार कुश्ती कला का पर्दर्शन कर दर्शकों को मत्रमुग्ध कर दिया ! सेमिफाइंल्स अगले दिन ज्यों ज्यों कुश्तियां होती गई अछे पहलवान रण में जीतते रहे और कम्जूर पहलवान हारते रहे दिन के अंत तक देश भर के अछे पहलवान फ़ाइनल के लिए अपनी कुश्ती कला दिखाने के लिए चुन लिए गए ! कई वर्षों के बाद आंध्र के निवासियों इतने रोमांचक , लोमहर्षक , मनोरंजक खेल को देखने का saubhagya paaya था , उनकी खुशियों की सीमा न थी ! अपने अपने पसंदीदा पहलवानों के लिए वाई तालियाँ बजाते , चीखते चिल्लाते, और जीत की खुशिया मनाते , न्यूज़ और मीडिया के लोगों के उत्साह का ठिकाना न था , दिन भर खड़े रह कर , भूखे प्यासे रहकर कुश्तियों को कवर करते , उन्हें जरा भी मलाल न था, आखिर इतनी शानदार घटना और कहाँ कवर करने को मिलती ? फाइनल्स खेलों के आखिरी दिन की शाम फाइनल्स के नाम थी , मौसम खत्री रोहित पटेल , गुरुशरण, देवी सिंह, सत्यवर्त, नाद, अंशु तोमर, क्रिशन, हितेश, अभिमन्यु जैसे पहलवान दावेदारी के लिए तैयार थे

Devi Singh, a wrestler from Andhra Pradesh, stormed into finals by putting a spectacular show in his match. In the semifinals, wrestlers Mausam Khatri, Krishan, Rohit Patel, Nad, Satyavart and Deepak all advanced to the finals.
