JAMMU, Apr 15: Punjab wrestler, Navdeep Singh bagged the "24th Annual Mahadev Vishal Dangal" title by outplaying Mohnu of Jammu in the main bout held at Mahadev, Reasi which was being organised by Mahadev Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The winner Navdeep was awarded with cash prize of Rs 4,000 while runners-up, Mohnu got Rs 3,000.
District Development Commissioner Reasi, PK Pole was the chief guest, who gave away prizes to the winners. Member, J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar presided. SDPO IRP, Aslam was guest of honour.
About 37 bouts were held during the Vishal Dangal. The second main bout was won by Parveen of Khanna in Punjab afterbeating Gulshan Singh of Kalakote. In the third main bout, Kaka, of Punjab beat Nabab of Delhi. Fourth main bout went to Malkiyat of Attari in Punjab beating Rajesh of J&K Police.
In other bouts, Liakat Ali beat Nazir Ahmed; Mohd Sadiq beat Joginder Singh; Jameer Singh beat Janghir; Dalip Singh beat Ranjeet; Billu beat Nanak Singh; Kuldeep Singh beat Shamsh Din; K.P Singh of Kalakot beat Vijay of Haryana; Kartar Singh beat Romesh; Vijay beat Pinda; Rajesh beat Charat; Daler Khan of Jammu beat Krishan of Haryana; Sukhdev of Jammu beat Sonu of Amritsar; Karnail Singh beat Ajay and Vijay of Haryana beat Vir Singh of Reasi. Bout between Raspaul Singh of Reasi and Karnail Singh of Butate ended in a draw.
Mahadev Dangal committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this Vishal Dangal were Sanjay Kumar, Jaswant Singh, Sonu, Palvinder Singh, Allaha Mai (Ranga), Vijay Singh (Biju), Capt (Retd.) Lehar Singh, Master Ram Krishan and Pappu.
