JAMMU: Wrestler Benia of J and K Police (JKP) lifted 58th Annual Sankri Kesari Dangal title beating Rinku of Muthi in Jammu in the main bout played at Sankri Devta Devsthan in block Panchari of district Udhampur.
Winner Benia was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,500 while runners-up, Rinku received Rs 3,500 as prize money from Chief Guest, Tehsildar Settlement, Sushil Kumar Kesar. President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Member State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
Second main bout was won by Kulvir Singh of Kot Bhawal beating Atter Din of Jammu while third main bout went to Swarn Singh of Kot Bhawal, who beat Daler Khan of J and K Police.
The fourth bout was won by Ali of Jammu beating Ajay of Landen Power House.
This Dangal was organised by Meer Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Prominent among others present were BMO Panchari, G.L Dogra, SDPO Mukesh Kumar, SDPO, Kuldeep Khajuria, Puran Singh and SHO Panchari, S.P Modi.
Meer Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this Dangal include Lashman Singh Katoch (President), Swantantra Dev Kotwal, Hans Raj Thakur, Ratten Singh Katoch, Baldev Singh, Prabhat Singh, Raj Kumar, Pritam Singh, Gopal Singh, Narinder Sharma, Balbir Singh, Sandoor Singh, Mahtam Singh, Faial Singh and Mohammad Fareed.
In all, 41 bouts were played in one day Dangal. Other Results: Kailash beat Kuldip Singh, Saleem Mohammad beat Gurdev Singh, Jamat Ali beat Prakash Singh, Gopal Singh defeated Bagga, Liakat Ali beat Prem Verma and Jamat Ali of Jammu defeated Gurdev Singh of Davigarh.
