REASI: Wrestler Ajay Kumar of Landen Power House in district Udhampur clinched the 61st Annual Sankri Dangal title defeating Chandan of Ludhiana in Punjab at Sankri Devta Devsthan in block Panchari in district Udhampur. Dangal was organised by Meer Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Lashman Singh.
Winner Ajay Kumar and runners-up, Chandan were given away the cash prizes by Shiv Kumar Sharma and Tehsildar Panchari, Romesh Singh. Prominent among others present were Dr Sat Pal Pangotra, Varinder Sharma, Des Raj Atri, Prabhat Singh, Lashman Singh and Baldev Singh and Joginder Paul.
Around 70 Wrestlers drawn from Udhampur, Reasi and Jammu Districts participated in this day long wrestling event. In all, 39 bouts took place in this day-long Dangal.
Meer Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this Dangal were Prem Nath Bhagat (Retd. Master), Sat Paul Singh, Gopal Singh, Ratten Lal, Balbir Singh, Lashman Singh, Shanker Singh, Mahatama Singh, Balbir Singh, Gadrab Singh, Dharam Singh, Baldev Singh, Virender Sharma, and Murli Dhar (Munna).
Other Results: Muneer Ahmed of Jammu beat Balbir Singh of Panchari, Jamat Ali of Jammu beat Parkash of Buhmag, Rashid of Jammu defeated Vijay Singh of Moungri, Rustam of Jammu outplayed Rangil Singh of Panchari, Vijay Singh of Moungri trounced Sandokh of Kalsote, Ranjeet Singh of Galyote downed Kuldeep Singh of Panchari, Daleep Singh of Buhmag blanked Punto Ram of Damnote and Hem Raj of Panjar beat Kailash Dev of Mongri.
