JAMMU, Jan 15: Wrestler Benia defeated Mool Chand in a tough bout to lift 111th Annual Panthal Kesari 2011 title.
He was also adjudged as the best wrestler. The dangal was organized by Swami Nitya Nand Wrestling Association, Panthal in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The winner pahalwan was awarded a cash prize of Rs 7,000 in addition to traditional Silver Gurj and Patta.
Mool Chand pocketed a sum of Rs 6,000.
In other bouts, Sagar beat Digvijay, Parveen beat Fiza, Dharma beat Parveen, Amir Khan beat Jamal Din, Naresh beat Ajeet Singh, Bagga beat Gurdev Singh, Liaqat Ali beat Shiv Raj, Inderjeet beat Devinder, Mohanu beat Prem Verma, Harban beat Daler Khan, Gurmail beat Younus Ali and Rajinder beat Gurpreet.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, President of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association was the chief guest while SP (Retd) Prithvi Raj was the guest of honour.
