RAMBAN, Apr 30: Zaker from Jammu clinched the 20th Annual Maitra Kesari Dangal-2014 by beating Nishad Ahmed from Bhalesa in the main bout played at Ramlela Ground Maitra.
The Maha Dangal (wrestling matches) was organized by Dangal committee Maitra in collaboration with 11 Sector Rashtrya Rifles.
Brig. Bubesh Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion; SP Ramban Javeed Matto and Col. Pardeep Bhatia were the Guests of honor.
The winner of the Main bout was awarded with a prize of Rs.8000 and Patta while runner up of the bout was given cash prize Rs. 5000 besides 2nd and 3rd bouts winner were given Rs. 5000 each while runner up of the same bouts got Rs 4000 each.
As many as Over 50 bouts were held during the wrestling match with the participation of large number of renowned wrestlers from across the state as well as out of state took part in this mega event. The wrestlers who were repeatedly chaired from across the jam packed Dangal ground who showed their excellence in wrestling art including Monu, Jamat Ali, Gopal Sharma and Kalu Pahalwan etc.
Brig. Mr. Bubesh Kumar, lauded the efforts of President Maitra Dangal Committee ,in organizing the Dangal at Maitra every year. He said that such events helps to promote communal harmony, brotherhood and national integration among the Youth as that the need of society in this scenario.
Speaking on the occasion SP, Javeed Matoo asked the youth to participation in sports activity for their moral and physical development, He further said that the rural sports boosting the morale of wrestlers besides providing a source of entertainment to common people at many platforms. He said events also keep the wrestlers physically fit and mentally sound adding that healthy persons could also contribute in shaping the future of the society in a better way.
President of Dangal Committee, Gopal Krishan Raina, Vice- President Krishan Lal, Cashier Modh. Rafiq and officials of II RR , Rendered technical assistance in the event. Gopal Krishan informed that the Prize of one lakh Rupees has been distributed among the wrestlers during the Dangal.
Earlier Veteran wrestlers were also facilitated by the organizers.
