Kushti Dangal in Udaipur

More than three hundred men will showcase their sturdily inspired ‘dav-pech’ in the Kushti Dangal, which started in Gandhi Ground Udaipur today.
350 professional wrestlers from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are going to take part in this famed traditional wrestling competition.
The competition is divided into 5 categories, viz. Mewar Malwa Basant, Mewar Malwa Kishore, Rajasthan Madhya Pradesh Kumar, Mewar Malwa Kumar and Rajasthan Madhya Pradesh Kesari.
The winners of the competition will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh, 3 Silver replicas of work out tools and the title band.
The 3-Day event is organized by the committee of legendry wrestler Ustad Laxman Singh, the 23rd Mewar Malwa Dangal Kesari was inaugurated today on 13th January at Gandhi Ground by Rajni Dangi (Chairman Municipal Council, Udaipur) and the Chief Guest for the function were Raj Bihari Chaturvedi and Prof. I.V Trivedi.
Arjun Rajwa, the Secretary of Laxman Singh Pehlwan Srimiti Samiti said, “We have created the wrestling ring with the International norms, i.e. 12/12 meter, beside this the preparation of this competition was going on since months; we hope it will be a great success.”
This is the first time that such a large scale wrestling event is being organized in the Gandhi ground.
Obviously with greater capacity, Gandhi Ground will be able to entertain a large of number of wrestling enthusiasts in this competition.
